Our Story

A Place Shaped by Time

Established in 1885, Swiss & Bloom has always been a place shaped by the rhythm of the land. For more than a century, these 156 acres have held quiet mornings, grazing cattle, maple sugaring seasons, and the kind of stillness that only Vermont’s hills can offer.

Here, the landscape is not a backdrop — it’s a living part of the story. The fields roll gently toward Mount Mansfield. Tyler Branch winds along the northeast edge of the property, gathering into waterfalls after a good rain. Wildlife moves through the open pastures at dawn, and at night, thousands of stars settle over the farmhouse and barn like a soft blanket.

This land has always been a refuge. A place to breathe. A place to feel grounded. A place where life slows down long enough for you to notice what matters.

A Farmstead Reimagined for Celebration

When the farmhouse and 1850s timber‑frame barn were restored, the goal wasn’t to modernize them — it was to honor their history while creating a space where people could gather with ease and intention.

The 5,000‑square‑foot farmhouse, with its seven bedrooms, antique beds, crisp linens, and long farmhouse table overlooking the hills, was designed to feel like a true retreat. A place where wedding parties can settle in, reconnect, and wake to the quiet beauty of the countryside.

Steps away, the restored wedding barn rises with hand‑hewn beams, twenty‑foot doors, chapel stairs, and a soaring 25‑foot ceiling. Its octagonal silo now holds a warm, wood‑lined lounge and cocktail bar — a nod to the farm’s past, reimagined for celebration.

Together, the farmhouse and barn create a setting that is both rustic and elegant — a place where comfort and craftsmanship meet.

Ceremony Spaces Shaped by Nature

Across the property, nature offers its own ceremony locations:

  • a secluded waterside nook along Tyler Branch

  • a quiet lawn beside The Wedding Barn

  • a gentle landing at the chapel steps

  • a meadow that opens toward the mountains

Each space carries its own kind of magic — sunlight through the trees, the sound of water after a rainstorm, the soft breeze that moves across the fields.

Mother Nature is the designer here. You simply choose the moment that feels like yours.
